Our first edit is in the making.

NEW TO MAKEUP?

Start Here

Begin with curiosity. Add another step when you’re ready.

Makeup, one step at a time.

You don’t need a full routine or every technique to begin. Start with one step you’re curious about, notice what you enjoy, and build from there only if you want to.

01 · CHOOSE YOUR START

One product can be a complete beginning.

Eyes

Mascara can add definition to the lashes. Look at the brush, formula, shade and removal directions before choosing.

Cheeks

A cream blush can add a touch of color. Begin with a small amount, blend, and add more gradually if you prefer.

Lips

A lip oil can offer shine, while a stain is intended to leave color. Finish, scent, shade and wear can vary by formula.

02 · BUILD YOUR ORDER

A simple routine can stay flexible.

This is one possible order, not a rule. Skip any step that doesn’t fit your routine.

  1. PrepBegin with clean skin and the moisturizer or primer you already choose to use. Allow each layer to settle according to its directions.
  2. CheeksAdd a small amount of color and blend before deciding whether you want another layer.
  3. EyesApply mascara as directed, keeping the applicator controlled and away from the inside of the eye.
  4. LipsChoose color, shine or both. A thin first layer makes it easier to see the finish.
  5. Set & removeA mist is optional. At the end of the day, remove each product using the directions for that formula.

03 · FIND YOUR FINISH

Pay attention to what the words describe.

Sheer
A lighter-looking layer of color. It does not mean invisible, and the result depends on the product and shade.
Buildable
Designed to be layered gradually. It does not promise unlimited intensity or identical results for everyone.
Glossy
A shiny finish that may need to be refreshed. Check the specific formula for scent and texture.
Tubing mascara
A formula designed to form tube-like coatings around the lashes. Follow its own application and warm-water removal directions.

04 · CHOOSE WITH CONTEXT

Shade images are a guide, not a guarantee.

Lighting, camera settings and screens can change how a color appears. Look for the official shade name, description and unfiltered swatches on more than one skin tone when they are available. A shade does not have to follow a rule about who “should” wear it.

05 · KEEP THE LABEL CLOSE

Good habits belong in every routine.

  • Read the complete label, ingredient list, directions and warnings before use.
  • Wash your hands before applying cosmetics and keep applicators clean.
  • Do not share products used around the eyes.
  • If an eye cosmetic causes irritation, stop using it; seek medical advice if irritation continues.
  • Do not treat “natural,” “organic” or “hypoallergenic” as a guarantee that a product will work for everyone.

Safety points adapted from current consumer guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The exact product label remains essential.

YOUR ROUTINE, YOUR PACE

Keep the steps that feel useful to you.
